Build a facility training plan that follows contract responsibilities
Who this page is for
Organize employee learning around the equipment and responsibilities in each facility contract. Use the contract responsibility map to identify who coordinates equipment and who performs the work. A learner may serve several facilities, but the equipment knowledge needed at each should still be checked. Keep course completion separate from site maintenance status and subcontractor performance.
The company planning problem
A management company may oversee sites with different equipment and contract scopes, making a single universal course list unsuitable.
A practical planning example
Illustrative scenario: A company adds a facility with a commercial kitchen to a portfolio previously focused on offices. It identifies the affected coordinator, checks the additional knowledge topics and records the changed contract boundary. Other employees are not assigned kitchen study solely because the portfolio expanded.
Match subjects to responsibilities
- NFPA 10 — Fire Extinguisher Training: Compare for employees responsible for portable-extinguisher coordination or related maintenance duties.
- NFPA 17A — Kitchen Fire Suppression Training: Compare for the designated kitchen-suppression roles at relevant contracts.
- NFPA 17 — Dry Powder Fire Suppression Training: Review only where the actual equipment and contract duties support selecting it.
- NFPA 96 — Hood and Duct Exhaust System Training: Compare for coordinators or technical staff with hood and duct exhaust responsibilities.
Organize the company enrollment
- Map equipment responsibilities by contract and site.
- Identify which named employees cover those responsibilities.
- Check existing learning needs before coordinating individual enrollments for new subjects.
- Track each learner’s completion independently of site maintenance reports.
- Retain separate practical checks, subcontractor verification and local work requirements.
Each learner needs an individual enrollment and access to the email address associated with that enrollment. After payment is verified and enrollment is created, the learner requests a one-time access code sent by email. Each new login requires a new code, including for returning students. An authenticated session gives access only to courses for which that learner has a valid enrollment.
If the company will pay for several people, contact info@fescousa.com before purchasing to coordinate the payer and individual learner details. Do not assume one purchase enrolls a department, a shared company account is available, or bulk checkout is automatic. Each person studies and takes the exam under their own enrollment.

Prepare a practical or onsite inquiry
An appropriately sized group may inquire about separately arranged practical or onsite training, subject to scope, location, equipment, scheduling, travel, feasibility and quotation. Instructor, equipment and venue availability must be confirmed. Online enrollment does not include practical instruction.
Describe the contracts or site types involved, participant duties and proposed practical objectives. Clarify whether the request is for coordinators, hands-on personnel or both so FESCO can evaluate the scope.
Send group inquiries to info@fescousa.com with proposed participant roles and numbers, location, equipment, preferred timing and the tasks you want to address. FESCO must assess the request before arrangements or pricing can be confirmed.
Completion and actual work
FESCO awards a Certificate of Completion. Training does not replace the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), licensing, permits, inspections, or local requirements. Employers and technicians remain responsible for actual work, safety, supervision, and compliance.
Online completion does not by itself demonstrate hands-on competence.
Questions company buyers ask
Can one course plan cover every contract?
Only after reviewing the actual roles and equipment; do not assume identical subjects are relevant at all sites.
Should we mark a facility compliant when its coordinator completes training?
No. An individual learning result does not establish the condition or compliance of a facility.
