Train the right technicians for each service line without assigning irrelevant courses. Start with the work your technicians actually perform or coordinate. A contractor with several service lines can use the FESCO catalog to compare knowledge subjects, then keep equipment-specific practical preparation and local work requirements in a separate plan. A job title alone is not a reason to assign every course.

A mixed service roster makes it easy to buy identical courses for technicians whose equipment responsibilities differ.
A practical planning example
Illustrative scenario: A contractor adds kitchen-related work to one team’s responsibilities while another team continues with portable extinguishers. The training coordinator records the changed duties, proposes different subjects and identifies who will supervise practical follow-up. This is a planning example, not a FESCO customer case study.
Match subjects to responsibilities
- NFPA 10 — Fire Extinguisher Training: Consider for technicians with portable-extinguisher responsibilities.
- NFPA 17A — Kitchen Fire Suppression Training: Consider for the people assigned kitchen fire-suppression topics.
- NFPA 17 — Dry Powder Fire Suppression Training: Compare the catalog scope with the actual fixed powder-system equipment before assigning this subject.
- NFPA 96 — Hood and Duct Exhaust System Training: Consider for people responsible for hood and duct exhaust topics; do not treat this as the same subject as kitchen suppression.
Organize the company enrollment
- List technicians by service responsibility and equipment category, not only seniority.
- Identify the subject gap for each person and compare it with the catalog.
- Confirm individual emails and coordinate any company-paid arrangement before purchase.
- Track each person’s completion separately from the service roster.
- Record practical observation, supervision and applicable work authorization separately before assigning duties.
Each learner needs an individual enrollment and access to the email address associated with that enrollment. After payment is verified and enrollment is created, the learner requests a one-time access code sent by email. Each new login requires a new code, including for returning students. An authenticated session gives access only to courses for which that learner has a valid enrollment.
If the company will pay for several people, contact info@fescousa.com before purchasing to coordinate the payer and individual learner details. Do not assume one purchase enrolls a department, a shared company account is available, or bulk checkout is automatic. Each person studies and takes the exam under their own enrollment.

Prepare a practical or onsite inquiry
An appropriately sized group may inquire about separately arranged practical or onsite training, subject to scope, location, equipment, scheduling, travel, feasibility and quotation. Instructor, equipment and venue availability must be confirmed. Online enrollment does not include practical instruction.
For a practical inquiry, describe the service lines involved, proposed participant roles and equipment categories. Identify which tasks you want observed; distinguish those from classroom knowledge topics and from customer-site requirements.

Completion and actual work
FESCO awards a Certificate of Completion. Training does not replace the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), licensing, permits, inspections, or local requirements. Employers and technicians remain responsible for actual work, safety, supervision, and compliance.
Online completion does not by itself demonstrate hands-on competence.
Questions company buyers ask
Should every technician take all four programs?
No. Start with assigned duties and equipment. A kitchen-focused role and a portable-extinguisher role may need different subjects.
Can completion replace our practical sign-off?
No. Keep the individual course result separate from the company’s assessment of actual work and applicable local requirements.
